Overview: This right here is an original model DS. It released back in 2004 and is not what a whole lot of people think of when they think of a "Nintendo DS." It was later surpassed by a newer model called the DS Lite in 2006. It's well known for having 2 back lit dual screens (Hence the name, DS,) and being one of the first consoles to have a touch screen. Throughout the years, the Nintendo DS has managed to sell a shockingly high 93.86 million units, partly due to Nintendo marketing it towards a more general audience, compared to it's earlier handhelds like the Gameboy. One cool thing about these early DS models is that they also can play GBA games which is pretty cool.
Condition: This Nintendo DS certainly works. All Unfortunately, due to the plastic getting more brittle overtime, the case is incredibly damaged with a couple holes rittled about and it looks incredibly scuffed. Ya, hopefully someday I can get that case replaced, but right now I'm stuck with it. : (
Models:
The OG Model: This was the launch model that released back in 2004. Many people call this the most ungraceful looking one due to it's case design but I'm personally a big fan of how it looks. It had the ability to connect to wifi and had it's own OS, which isn't something you could say about the Gameboy Advance. Speaking of the GBA, it can also play it's entire library of games also, which is pretty cool. Unfortunately, this DS is the most brittle one out of them all and will shatter like glass even at the slightest impact... So make sure to be careful...
The DS Lite: This was the revision based off the original model and came out 2 years after the original model back in 2006. This one is considered one of the best looking due to its brighter screen and ipod-esque design. It still has all of the features the original model had including the same operating system. For the most part, this is the original model wit all of its kinks ironed out. The only gripe many people have with it is that the GBA cartridges would stick out of the console which is incredibly obnoxious.
The DSi: This the 3rd revision of the Nintendo DS and launched back in 2009. It boasted 2 digital cameras, a new operating system, an online store where you could download games, and could connect to SD cards. Unforntunately, it removed the gba slot so you could no longer play gba games on it.
The DSi XL: Think of the DSi, but if it was BIGGER!!! ...And that's about it... :l
